WLP: A global reach, engaging emerging economies and big businesses alike

The WLP is a global, private sector-led initiative designed to smooth the flow of global trade, unlock market access and provide economic efficiencies to members. The program is free to join and open to all.

Enabled by key logistics partners such as airports, ports, and customs, the WLP offers financial and non-financial benefits to traders and freight forwarders in reward for increasing their trade. The WLP, the world’s first global freight loyalty scheme, benefits businesses by reducing their supply chain costs, and ensuring that goods move faster and more efficiently. This is achieved through access to benefits such as quicker customs clearance and priority handling, and leads to a 2-3 per cent increase in the value of trade over a two year period.

Unlocking these benefits allows nations and regions to gain access to new markets, diversify trade in existing products, and increase market shares in key export products in developing economies.

More than 20 countries have signed up to the policy initiative including Brazil, India, South Africa, Vietnam, Mexico, Malaysia, Kenya, Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay, Senegal, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, and Guinea. Major multinational corporations including UPS, Pfizer, Sony, Johnson & Johnson, and LG are also engaged in the WLP.
