WLP at WCO’s Global AEO Conference

WLP General Manager Mahmood Al Bastaki attended the 5th World Customs Organization Global AEO conference in May 2021, which was held under the theme of ‘AEO 2.0: Advancing Towards New Horizons for Sustainable and Secure Trade.’ Speakers and participants at the conference were invited to share their experience and ideas on how the WCO’s SAFE Framework of Standards and Members flagship AEO programs can be enhanced to drive the COVID-19 recovery process; how digital transformation can be embraced along with other advanced technologies to enable renewal; and how people can be put at the centre of change for a resilient and sustainable supply chain.

Al Bastaki delivered a keynote address at the conference, during which he highlighted the WLP’s mission, and the benefits of the world’s first freight loyalty program for the global business community. His address delved into the details of the WLP, from the advantages the program provides the trading ecosystem, through to the reasons why an increasing number of nations want to sign up to the membership.
